Dia Dhuit & Fáilte,

My name is Gráinne, and I am a Chartered Physiotherapist registered with CORU, with over 15 years of experience across both private and public healthcare settings. My career has taken me from acute hospital environments in small and large teaching hospitals to community-based and residential disability services.

After completing a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2006, I went on to study Yoga with Carol Murphy at Green Lotus Yoga, qualifying as a teacher in 2010. Since then, I’ve have taught classes across Ireland — from Donegal to Cork, mo thalún dúchas, Cathair na nGaillimhe — and now in the heart of the midlands.

Throughout my twenties, I travelled to India to deepen my understanding of Yoga, practicing in places such as Goa, Mysore, Pune, and Auroville in Tamil Nadu. While there, I also studied Ayurvedic Massage, Nutrition, and Cooking. My curiosity about holistic health led me to explore the medicinal properties of native Irish plants. In 2012, I completed a year-long apprenticeship in Herbal Medicine with Veritas Hibernica, followed by studies in Sustainable Horticulture at Kinsale College of Further Education in 2013, and a Permaculture Design course at Carraig Dúlra.

After several years working on organic farms and co-managing a kitchen café garden project in Galway, I returned to Physiotherapy, completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Promotion at NUIG in 2018. In more recent years, I’ve specialised in Pelvic Health and last year revisited my yoga roots by undertaking Advanced Therapeutic Yoga training with Green Lotus Yoga.

Together with my family, we farm a small piece of land in the midlands, where we have grown herbs and vegetable trays for local markets, hosted social farming placements, and welcomed WWOOFers. Our ongoing vision is to nurture habitats that support biodiversity, grow food, plant trees, and foster a love for our native language and the land around us.

I look forward to continuing this yoga journey with you, and welcoming newcomers to join a class at Yoga na Míde — practicing yoga in the heart of Ireland, where modern science meets ancient wisdom.
